PNKF to Host 2002 All United States Kendo Federation Iaido Seminar
September 20-22, 2002

 

The Pacific Northwest Kendo Federation is pleased to be hosting this year’s annual All United States Kendo Federation National Iaido Seminar and Taikai.

The event is scheduled for Friday September 20th through Sunday September 22nd at the Renton Community Center located in Renton, Washington. This is about twenty minutes south of Seattle and about fifteen minutes from the Seattle / Tacoma International Airport.

The 3-Day seminar is open to all levels of participants and will cost $80.00 for AUSKF members and $130.00 for non AUSKF members. This fee includes lunch for Saturday and Sunday and dinner Saturday evening, additional dinner attendees are welcome at a cost of $15.00 per person.

Registration and Check-in will begin Friday September 20th at 3:00PM; opening ceremonies will begin at 4:00PM followed by Koryu practice and an open Kendo gikeiko in the evening. Saturday, September 21st will consist of ZNKR Iaido practice and the AUSKF National Iaido Taikai, followed by a banquet and awards presentation in the evening. AUSKF promotional exams will be held on Sunday morning September 22nd, followed by a ZNKR Iaido practice session and closing ceremonies.

The AUSKF National Taikai will be open to all AUSKF members at any level and will cost an additional $10 per Taikai participant in order to pay for trophies. Please indicate on the seminar order form if you plan to participate and include the entry fee with the registration.

An AUSKF Iaido Shinsa will be held Sunday morning. For all of those planning on testing, please indicate your interest and the rank you are requesting on the seminar application form (THE SHINSA FORM MUST BE FILLD OUT COMPLETELY). A copy of the AUSKF shinsa examination application form is included with this packet along with a menjo (certificate) fee schedule. Please bring the examination application form properly filled out and signed by your regional president to the registration desk along with the $50.00 testing fee when you check in.
